This tour of the Benagil Caves and Coastline by boat starts at Carvoeiro Beach , lasts ~ 60-90mins and costs in the region of 20€ per head. It is safe, well-organised and a great way to see the beautiful cliffs and caves from below. The ‘Algarves’ or sink holes are formed by rainwater erosion of the cliffs and allow you to look up to the blue sky from within the sea caverns….Incredible colours can be seen in the rocks due to the minerals within.

Seeing the same stretch of coastline from above is possible. A 40 minute walk from Benagil (5min drive from Casa Luessa) is described below.
